Consumer verification through mobile apps: Through our partnership with the family location safety app Life360, we have connections with nearly 80 million opted-in drivers – approximately 17% of the driving population in the U.S. – using standard smartphone sensors. When a crash is detected, the app sends a push notification to the user asking for confirmation about whether the event that just took place was in fact a crash. If it was a crash, the consumer can immediately notify emergency services and/or their emergency contacts using the app. Based on this feedback from users themselves, we can label events at scale, helping us to continually refine our algorithm. We have detected an average of 23,000 high confidence crashes per month.
Auto insurance claims: If you only use telematics data, you don’t know what you don’t know.
